Sandbox - Development Server
The Lokad services are replicated on
sandbox-app.lokad.com (as opposed to the production website, i.e.
app.lokad.com); this replication is called the
Lokad Sandbox. The Lokad Sandbox is made freely available to the community for testing and/or development purposes.

production subdomains have their
sandbox equivalents.
Why using the Lokad sandbox?
The sandbox is actually used by the Lokad Team itself while developing add-ons for 3rd party products. Lokad is making the sandbox freely available in order to ease the development of products relying on the Lokad forecasting technology. As a developer, the sandbox represents a "free edition" of Lokad available for software development purposes.
Conditions and restrictions
The sandbox is made available for free. You can register
here, and then change your subscription plan to Enterprise without being charged (*).
Yet, please be aware that
- we do not make any uptime guarantees on the sandbox server.
- the accuracy of the forecasts might be significantly lower compared to the production website.
- we may wipe out all the data of the sandbox anytime (we don't do that too often though).
(*) Actually, on the
My Account panel, it will appear as if you had been charged, but your subscription plan won't be reverted to
Free if you're balance gets negative.
All add-ons developed by Lokad have been released as open source under the
BSD license on
SourceForge.net.
The BSD license is compatible with closed-source commercial applications. Integrating a forecasting technology has never been easier.
