Your internship at Lokad - 6 months typically, at the end of your master studies - will be preparing you to become a full time Supply Chain Scientist at Lokad. You will gain analytical skills, and learn how to make the most of a Big Data platform combined with Machine Learning capabilities to solve real-world supply chain challenges.
As an Assistant Supply Chain Scientist, your role is to support our Supply Chain Science team in their daily duties, with the overall aim of making sure that our clients get the most out of Lokad’s solution. You will be responsible for extensively qualifying our clients’ business data to make it “workable” for being used by Lokad’s forecasting engine. Most of your time will be spent in what could be compared to advanced Excel-like analytics - except that you're dealing with Big Data and Machine Learning through the use of Lokad's platform.
Furthermore, you will learn how to address complex supply chain issues and craft diverse quantitative strategies. As you progress in your internship over time, you will become increasingly involved in refining these strategies to keep them aligned with the needs of our fast-growing clients.
Depending on your level of performance, you may become directly involved in interacting with Lokad’s clients - mainly over the phone and by e-mail in English - in order to better understand their business and help them find appropriate solutions for optimizing their supply chain.
Job Skills and Requirements
We expect you to have a keen interest in data and quantitative analysis in general. Good Excel skills are a plus, and having even modest programming skills is a bonus too. An engineering background is usually a good fit. We also expect you to be fluent in English, as the majority of our clients are located overseas. A previous professional experience, such as another internship, is generally preferred.
